Harvest giving makes a difference

Pupils, families, and staff came together to collect food and toys to support local families in need.
Donations included everyday essentials, non-perishable foods, and toys, all of which were carefully packed and delivered to the WA5 Good Neighbours charity by Park Road Community Primary School's Head Boy and Head Girl alongside staff.
Year 5 pupil Hannah also decided to take on her own challenge this year and give an extra boost to our Harvest Festival donation.
Hannah, along with her Dad, took part in a sponsored 5k run to raise an incredible £300 which was used to buy an extra 100 selections boxes.
Park Road Primary has worked with WA5 Good Neighbours for several years, and the partnership is an important part of the school’s Harvest activities. It allows pupils to see firsthand the impact of giving and to understand that Harvest is about sharing what we have and helping those in our community.
As part of the school's Harvest festivities the Innov8 Team led a Harvest Around the World assembly, exploring how different countries celebrate the season. They each shared what harvest looks like in a chosen country and children in the audience contributed with their ideas too. They worked so hard to create and share this informative assembly and did such a wonderful job.
Deputy Head Teacher Mrs Akinyemi said: “We have collected a huge selection of food and toys to donate to the WA5 Good Neighbours charity! We have worked alongside this charity for many years and the donations this year have really blown them away. Thank you so much to everyone in our school community for your kindness and generosity.”
