Blog Post: Spreading Happiness
At Park Road Community Primary School we have a special team dedicated to finding ways to make our pupils and families the happiest they can be.
The team have been keeping themselves busy so far this term. Read more about what they have been up to below.
The Happiness Team have been very busy so far this term, we have had a focus on 'showing acts of kindness ' across school and within our local community. We made posters that can be seen around school on how to use the new Sensory garden and have helped get the festive season off to a great start by decorating the big tree in the hall.
As part of Anti-Bullying week, we handed out cards of encouragement on the KS1 gate and to all parents on the playground after school.
We have joined with a local hospital and started our Christmas Card campaign, asking the children and wider community/families to create homemade or donated cards for us to deliver. To thank the nurses and Doctors and bring joy to some patients having to spend Christmas in hospital. We will be delivering some of these to a local care home too. The team are running a lunch craft club so the children can make some in school too!
Our local park is having some landscaping done and we have been invited over to help with the planting. We can't wait for spring to see all our hard work in full bloom.
In the new year we will be hosting our first Happiness Cafe, inviting parents and carers into school for cake and a chat, but for now the Happiness wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.
