This term we welcomed our new PE Apprentice Callum Taylor to Park Road Community Primary School.

We asked Mr Taylor to tell us a little more about himself and what he will be doing during his time with us.

“Recently, I have been on the playground at break and lunch time, with fun activities like obstacle courses and bat and ball games. Not only that, but there are also sports like football, rugby and basketball, which the children all enjoy.

I have been working with other members of staff at the school to help in PE lessons for every year group. I have also been working with the children to help better themselves at possible new sports in PE lessons. Along with the rest of the staff, I aim to ensure that the PE lessons are engaging, as well as making it enjoyable for the children to help them develop.

I am very excited to start new after school clubs this year, for both boys and girls, including sports such as cricket and rounders. I will also be continuing the Disney Stars, which has been very successful over the last few years. During these clubs, the target will be to develop the children’s understanding of a variety of sports, improve and learn more about them, as well as having the most fun possible.

I have really enjoyed my time here so far. Park Road Community Primary School is a very welcoming school, with great members of staff who always say hello on the corridor and ask me questions about the day.

I am really looking forward to working with everyone for the rest of the year, getting to know everyone, improve my own knowledge and experience as well as that of the children, but most importantly having fun during the lessons."

Welcome to the school Mr Taylor!
