Developing new skills at Forest School
Children at Park Road Community Primary School are getting the chance to explore nature, develop new skills, and grow in confidence as part of new Forest School sessions.
We asked our Forest School Lead Miss Taylor to tell us more about what pupils will be doing in these unique outdoor lessons.
“I have a passion for the outdoors and working with children so having the opportunity to combine them both will be an amazing experience.
With this being said, I am thrilled to announce that the children of Park Road Primary will be taking part in Forest School!
Forest School is a unique outdoor learning experience where children can explore nature, develop new skills, and grow in confidence.
During Forest School sessions, your child will:
- Learn about the natural environment through hands-on activities like bug hunting, leaf identification, den building, camp fires, tree climbing and much more.
- Build their teamwork and communication skills through group games and problem-solving challenges.
- Develop independence and creativity by building shelters, using tools safely, and engaging in imaginative play.
- Develop fine and gross motor skills while engaging in outdoor exploration and physical activities.
Forest School encourages curiosity, resilience, and a deep connection with nature. Each session will be child-led, allowing them to follow their interests, try new things, and learn at their own pace.
We can’t wait to see their love for learning grow in the great outdoors!”
