Special visit helps with RE learning
Year 3 children learned more about Christianity and the meaning of vocation during a special visit from The Rev Jeremy Tear from St Mary’s Church.
The Park Road Community Primary School pupils are learning about Christianity as part of their RE curriculum and took the opportunity to listen and ask questions about why and how people serve God.
Rev Jeremy spoke to the class about how he found God and the work he has been inspired to do within the church and community.
Teacher Hilary Anderson said: “The children loved listening to Jeremy and were very thoughtful in the follow up question and answer sessions sharing some lovely family memories with us all. They also then had time to think about who they would follow and why. Some chose family members such as grandparents whilst others were inspired by sports and pop stars.”
The visit was a great opportunity for the children to learn more about their community as well as build on their knowledge for RE.
