Park Road Community Primary School has been awarded Bronze accreditation in recognition of its commitment to prioritising children's mental health and wellbeing.

Pupils have been taking part in the NHS-backed MyHappymind programme which includes weekly lessons focussing on creating positive wellbeing.
The programme is grounded in the latest science and research and includes a curriculum  which is structured for every year group from Early Years to Year 6.

Teacher Mrs Oakes said: “This means that as a school we consider the mental health and wellbeing of our children as one of our top priorities. We have created a whole school culture that helps build our children's resilience, confidence and self esteem as well as teaching them how to self regulate in those stressful times.

“This Accreditation badge has been awarded thanks to all the effort our staff, happiness team children, governors and parents have put in to bring the lessons of myHappymind to life all around our school!”
Children will now continue to take part in weekly MyHappyMind lessons and the school will be aiming to applying for the Silver accreditation next year!!
