Children have been on an exciting learning journey finding out about the countries of the United Kingdom and the city of London.

As part of their exploration, Year 1 Park Road Community Primary School pupils used the construction area to build famous London landmarks, bringing their learning to life through creative play. They also put their problem-solving skills to the test by completing a tricky United Kingdom jigsaw, strengthening their knowledge of the four nations that make up the UK.

Their learning didn’t stop there, with Year 1 developing their programming skills by using BeeBots, helping them understand basic coding and direction.

In Maths, they worked hard on ordering numbers up to 20, using cubes to support their learning and deepen their understanding of number sequences. In PE, the children focused on different types of balances, developing their coordination and control.

Fantastic hands-on learning Year 1!
